• Part-time Police Officer
  • The City of Austin is looking for qualified candidates to apply for a part-time police officer position. • Full-time Police Officer

• Public Works - Utility Worker
  • The City of Austin is looking for a qualified candidate to apply for a full-time position as a utility worker.  Our public works department covers Water, Sewer, Streets, and various other duties as needed.  THIS JOB IS AN OUTDOOR JOB!  If you're not comfortable working outdoors, then this may not be the job for you.  The candidate must be able to pass a background check and a pre-employment drug screening.  The candidate must also possess/maintain a current drivers license and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.  A water distribution and/or a wastewater operator liscense is preferred, but not necessary.  Any experience with tools, machinery, and/or utilities is a plus.  This job is Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm, with the occasional on-call.  Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, vacation after 1 year, and retirement.  If you are interested, please submit an application to Austin City Hall located at 3181 Hwy 367 N  Austin, AR 72007.  You may print an application located on this website, or you may come by Austin City Hall and pick one up.  You may also apply on Indeed.com.  The Public Works director will review all applications and proceed from there.  The position(s) will be open until filled.  Salary depends on experience and can be negotiated in the interview ($16 hr.+).
• Seasonal Mosquito Sprayer
  • The city of Austin is looking to hire a mosquito sprayer for the summer months.  This position usually starts around June and ends around September (depending on the weather).  The job consists of loading the chemical into the truck, navigating the streets of Austin and driving at a snails pace to deploy the chemical.  On average, it will take 3-4 hours per evening and should net 15-20 hours per week.  This job is weather dependent (which simply means that the weather must be favorable for proper chemical deployment).  To be eligible for this job, the applicant must be 18 years old, have a drivers license with a clean driving record, be able to pass a background and drug test, and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.  Applications can be done on Indeed.com or filled out (printable on this city website) and dropped off at Austin City Hall 3181 Hwy. 367 N.
