- Public Works Utility Worker
Austin Public Works is now accepting applications for the position of utility worker. This position performs general maintenance of the water distribution system, wastewater system, street department, and various other Public Works duties. Applicant must have the ability to perform skilled labor for maintenance and/or installation of the various systems, but not limited to, reading drive-by meters, mowing and maintenance of facilities, use of all tools such as portable cordless tools, lawn mowers, tractors, generators, concrete saws, tapping machine, and a variety of hand tools. No previous experience is required but is preferred, training will be provided. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid Arkansas driver’s license. Wage is based on qualifications and experience. Must pass background check and drug screening prior to employment. Must be able to be on-call when scheduled. Dental, vision, health insurance, and retirement is provided. Take home vehicle is also provided if within mileage. Starting pay without experience is $15/hr.

- Code Enforcement Officer
The City of Austin is now accepting applications for the position of Code Enforcement Officer. This position is a full-time position. The hours are Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. Applicant must be able to interpret and enforce city, state, and federal codes and have the ability to work with citizens to resolve any code infractions. No previous experience is required but is preferred, training will be provided. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid Arkansas driver’s license. Wage is based on qualifications and experience. Must pass background check and drug screening prior to employment. Starting pay without experience is $12/hr. Dental, vision, health insurance, and retirement is provided. A take home vehicle is also provided if you live within a certain mileage from City Hall.
