Join Our Department: Part-Time Certified Police Officer Opening

The Austin Police Department is currently accepting applications for a Certified Part-Time Police Officer position. We are looking for dedicated, skilled individuals to join our team and contribute to keeping Austin a safe, vibrant community.

Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:

Certification: Must be part-time or full-time certified in good standing through CLEST.
Age: Must be at least 21 years of age.
Citizenship: Must be a United States citizen.
Criminal History: Must be free of any felony convictions and domestic abuse convictions.
Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Education: Must be a high school graduate or have obtained a GED.
Character: Must be of good moral character and successfully pass an extensive background check.
Evaluations: Must pass both a psychological and physical evaluation by a licensed doctor.

Applicant must be able to work a minimum of 24 hours a month, on weekends.
